DJ and producer MK, also known as Marc Kinchen, released his latest single entitled “Take My Chance” this week. The tune has been a staple of his summer sets and is heavily influenced by the sound of ’90s piano house, taking listeners on a euphoric journey.
MK has reached over one billion streams globally and made waves this year with singles such as “Asking” featuring Sonny Fodera and Clementine Douglas and his collaboration with Dom Dolla titled “Rhyme Dust.” The former made it into the Top 10 on the official UK singles charts while the latter received over 70 million global streams and was nominated for the ARIA awards in Australia, taking home the Gold certification in the region.
Apart from his success in production, the Detroit native’s headline shows continue to sell out worldwide, with performances at some of the most prominent festivals, including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Reading, Leeds, Creamfields, and Glastonbury. MK first burst onto the house scene with his “Somebody New” EP in 1989. However, it wasn’t until 1993 and 1994 that he gained worldwide recognition when his tracks “Always” and “Love Changes” topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, respectively.
Over the years, MK has worked with industry heavyweights such as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Pitbull, and Will Smith. More recently, he has been returning to his dancefloor roots, evidenced by his collaborations with Paul Woolford and Majid Jordan, as well as “Asking” and “Rhyme Dust.”
