Pedro Winter, famously known as Busy P, has recently disclosed that the forthcoming album of Justice excites him in the same way as their seminal debut album, ‘Cross,’ did. In an interview with NME, the head of Ed Banger Records, Winter, has revealed that a track from the ‘Cross’ album, ‘Genesis,’ is one of the most significant tracks in the record label’s history that paved the way for a definitive transformation in electronic music released during that era. Winter further endorsed the band’s genre-pushing characteristic, saying that he couldn’t be prouder of being their manager.
The Justice band, comprising of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, has become renowned for their pioneering approach to electronic music, blending funky basslines with heavy metal visuals and distortion. However, the band has been absent from their music-making endeavors for six years until they release their new album in 2024, marking a six-year production hiatus. In 2016, Justice released ‘Woman’, which was its last original work, while their remix album titled ‘Woman Worldwide’ hit the market two years later, influenced by their live performances in festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Primavera.
Busy P’s revelation suggests that the band is back and more ready than ever to push the limits of their genre, just like they did 20 years back when the label was formed. Since their last album, de Rosnay and Augé have been busy with their solo projects with the latter releasing his debut studio album ‘Escapades’ on Ed Banger Records last year. The duo’s fourth album yet-to-be-named album will follow their mythical debut ‘Cross,’ 2011’s second studio album ‘Audio, Video, Disco,’ and the ‘Woman’ album.
Justice experienced legal trouble with Justin Bieber earlier this year, claiming that Bieber copied their logo for his album, but the band members didn’t comment on how the dispute resolved. Fans worldwide await the release of the band’s latest album and hope that the band will once again revolutionize the electronic music industry.
