Two individuals have been detained in Scotland in connection with the fatal assault of a 51-year-old man following a break-in at a residential building in east Belfast. The victim, identified as Nicholas (Nicky) Gordon, was attacked when several intruders entered the apartment complex on Holywood Road in the early hours of 12 May.
After sustaining serious injuries during the incident, Mr. Gordon was transported to the hospital, where he subsequently passed away. The severity of his wounds led to his death, prompting a murder investigation.
Police Scotland arrested two men, aged 25 and 31, on Monday as part of this inquiry. The arrests are linked directly to the incident that took place in Belfast. Authorities from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) are coordinating arrangements for the suspects to be brought back to Northern Ireland to assist with further questioning.
