Boy, 15, denies 22 sexual offences at Northampton Crown Court

A boy aged 15 has entered a plea of not guilty to 22 sexual offence charges involving eight girls. Due to his age, his identity remains confidential. The charges were presented at Northampton Crown Court on Friday and include one count of rape, rape of a child under 13, and assault by penetration.

The alleged incidents reportedly occurred between 2023 and 2025, with the victims ranging in age from 10 to 15 years old. The defendant faces a total of 12 sexual assault charges and three additional charges related to sexually assaulting a child under 13. Additionally, he is charged with two counts of making indecent images of a child, one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child, and one count involving possession of extreme pornographic material.

Court proceedings revealed that some sexual assault accusations involve the defendant touching the victims both over and under their clothing, including an incident where he allegedly slapped one girl on the bottom. One of the charges for possessing indecent images refers specifically to the alleged possession of three category C images depicting children. At the hearing, the boy remained seated at the back of the courtroom alongside his mother and responded to the charges from there instead of the dock.

He was released on conditional bail with several restrictions in place. These include a ban on contacting the alleged victims or any witnesses, a prohibition against being alone with girls under 16 without supervision, and a requirement to cooperate with the Youth Justice Service. The trial is set to commence on 25 October 2027 at Northampton Crown Court and is expected to continue for three to four weeks
