Noah Woods, a three-year-old boy, tragically lost his life after being found in a pond following an extensive search in Suffolk. An inquest held in Ipswich revealed that Noah had exited a playground by squeezing through a gap in the fence.
The search took place in the village of Brantham after Noah went missing on September 15. Police divers discovered his body the following day in a nearby body of water. During the inquest, Assistant Coroner Jyoti Gill described the incident as a “very sad and tragic death” before adjourning the proceedings.
Evidence presented at Suffolk Coroner’s Court indicated that after leaving the playground, Noah entered a memorial garden through an open gate. From there, he proceeded along a path in a new housing development that led toward the Decoy Pond, where he was ultimately found.
The case remains a heart-wrenching reminder of the dangers young children can face, even in seemingly safe environments. The inquest continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Noah’s untimely passing
