The coroner expressed her heartfelt condolences to the family of Brandram, with special mention of his sisters Sophie Voelcker and Alexia Hicks, who were present at the hearing held in Fulham. During the proceedings, it was revealed that Brandram’s brother-in-law gained entry to the property using a spare key supplied by a neighbour, where he discovered the married banker in a room upstairs.
Emergency services arrived at the scene promptly, and paramedics carried out resuscitation attempts. Despite their efforts, Brandram was declared dead just before 9:00 pm BST. The inquest confirmed that the police found no evidence of suspicious circumstances or involvement of any third parties in the death.
Brandram’s family have maintained that he was not the jogger known in the media as the Putney Pusher and have attributed his death to the Metropolitan Police’s investigation into the case. They stated last week that he “took his own life after months of immense pressure caused by a Metropolitan Police investigation,” underlining that no forensic evidence connected him to the incident in question.
The Metropolitan Police acknowledged the difficulty and stress that an investigation can place on an individual. However, they did not suggest any wrongdoing beyond the investigative process itself
