Helena Hauff takes the reins on the latest fabric presents mix

Helena Hauff has put together the latest installation of fabric presents, intending to explore links between the nostalgia of retro past and the tripped-out, forward-thinking sonic future. The record blends dystopian undertones with sultry, euphoric dancefloor sounds to create an all-encompassing immersive experience. Hauff opens the mix with a new, exclusive single, ‘Turn Your Sights Inward,’ which moves through raw and gnarly elements to produce a punchy cut.

The mix itself spans 77 minutes, comprising 19 tracks exploring sounds of electro, breakbeat, techno, and squelching acid. Artists featured on the album include IMOGEN, Nite Fleit, YTP, among others, and even features classics such as Radioactive Man’s ‘Night Bus to Nowhere.’ Hidden, unreleased gems are also included in the mix, such as Magda Rot’s ‘Alter Simus’.

Hauff is an internationally known DJ and producer based in Hamburg. She also runs the Return to Disorder label, and her first EP, “Actio Reactio” was released on Werkdiscs in 2013. A vinyl-only mix CD, entitled “Obscure Object,” was also released on Actress’s Werkdiscs imprint in 2015, which laid out the sleazy electro and dark acid sounds that would come to define Hauff’s aesthetic.

The release of ‘fabric presents by Helena Hauff’ will be celebrated at fabric on September 30. It is available digitally, on double vinyl, and CD. The album contains timeless classics and hidden gems that blend dystopian undertones with sultry, euphoric dancefloor sounds to produce a punchy, immersive listening experience
