Lancashire Police have launched a public appeal for information to help locate Stephen Pennington, a child rapist who has breached his conditions of release and is being recalled to prison. Pennington, aged 35, was previously imprisoned in 2009 and again in 2022 for violating a sexual harm prevention order. He is described as being slim, white, about 6ft tall, and is reported to have links to Blackburn, Blackpool and Wigan. He has short receding dark brown hair and is considered a high-risk sex offender who poses a danger to children and women.

Det Con Stewart Marshall has requested that anyone who knows the whereabouts of Pennington come forward to share information with the police. Marshall noted that Pennington’s potential contact with children and women was a serious concern and appeals to the public to report any possible sightings. Pennington’s previous conviction and his status as a registered sex offender heighten anxiety about his availability and activities.

Members of the public who have information on his whereabouts should report it to the police. Pennington’s breach of his parole conditions requires swift action from both the police and the public to ensure his recapture and improve safety for the community.

Lancashire Police have asked anyone who comes into contact with Pennington to avoid engaging with him and to call the police immediately. Furthermore, reminding parents and children to be vigilant when out and about, especially during the daylight hours, may aid the police in apprehending this high-risk sex offender. The police have ramped up their efforts to locate Pennington, but their success depends on the public’s assistance in reporting any sightings or information
