Authorities have detained a third individual in connection with the murder investigation following the tragic death of George Glover, a 27-year-old described as a “loving and loyal” man from Leicester. The incident occurred early on Monday morning when Glover was assaulted while riding his bicycle along Narborough Road near the junction with Noel Street, around 6:30 BST. He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Thursday.
Among those held is a 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, who remains in police custody. In addition, a 31-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, previously apprehended on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit murder, are still being held by the police as investigations proceed.
George Glover’s family paid tribute to him on Friday, expressing their immense pride in the man he had become. They described George as a cherished son and eldest brother to his three siblings, emphasizing the profound impact his loss has already had on the family.
Detective Inspector Kevin Hames from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit encouraged any individuals with possible information to come forward, assuring them that it is not too late to assist.
