Angharad Evans of Great Britain achieved a remarkable milestone by securing her first European Championship gold medal in the 100m breaststroke final held in Paris. The 23-year-old swimmer not only won the race but did so with a championship record time of 1:04.87, which also marked her personal best and set a new British record.
