The discovery of £30,000 hidden in gold coins was described as “the answer to their prayers,” offering a vital first step toward securing grants and additional funds needed for necessary repairs. It is believed that these coins were concealed approximately four years ago by an unknown benefactor. Unlike other local churches that received similar anonymous donations in 2022, St Wilfrid’s Church had not located their gift until Good Friday, which fell on April 3rd this year.
