A round-the-world motorbike challenge came to a halt as a content creator from India, Yogesh Alekari, had his vehicle stolen in the UK. 15,000 miles into his journey that spanned 17 countries, his bike was taken while parked at Wollaton Park in Nottingham on 28 August. The theft not only included the motorbike but also luggage containing his passport and belongings worth £15,000. An 18-year-old man was arrested in Doncaster on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and other offenses by Nottinghamshire Police.
Despite the arrest, the authorities are still working to recover the stolen black, white, and orange KTM 390 Adventure motorbike. Sgt Daniel Sheasby acknowledged the impact the theft had on Mr. Alekari and urged anyone with information about the whereabouts of the bike to come forward. Mr. Alekari expressed relief upon hearing about the arrest and remains hopeful for the return of his prized possession, which he had purchased in April before embarking on his trip.
The trip documented by Mr. Alekari, who is a full-time content creator with a significant following on social media, had taken him through Iran, Nepal, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and various European countries before the theft halted his plans. Despite this setback, he has received numerous offers of help and support, including from the production company behind the Long Way Home TV series featuring actor Ewan McGregor and TV presenter Charley Boorman. Grateful for the outpouring of support, Mr. Alekari expressed his appreciation and highlighted the unity and encouragement he has received from people across the globe, particularly the biker community
