Following standard procedure, the pilot decided to return to London Heathrow for safety reasons. The plane landed without any further complications, and all passengers and crew were reported to be safe. Some passengers were able to be re-booked on alternative flights later the same day, while others were provided with accommodations such as meals and hotel rooms for the night.

Delta Air Lines mentioned that maintenance is currently being conducted on the Airbus A330-200 to assess and address the windscreen fault.
