Lisburn: Teenager seriously injured in hit-and-run

A hit-and-run collision in Lisburn has left an 18-year-old motorcyclist with serious injuries. The incident occurred at around 6:20 pm GMT on Saturday, when a silver vehicle collided with the teenager at the junction of Moira Road and Ballycreen Drive. The vehicle did not stop following the collision, say police.

The victim remains in hospital, leading authorities to appeal to anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Specifically, police are looking for witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision or who may have seen a silver vehicle driving in a suspicious manner. They are also urging anyone with dashcam or other footage of the incident to come forward.

This incident is not the first of its kind on Northern Ireland’s roads. Last year, almost 8,500 hit-and-run cases were reported across the country. These incidents highlight the importance of responsible driving and ensuring that those who break traffic laws are held accountable for their actions.

The investigation into the Lisburn collision is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible. Hit-and-run accidents can have devastating consequences, and it is crucial that those responsible are brought to justice
