K-pop is more popular than ever, with groups like 8TURN making a name for themselves. Leader JAE YUN and KYUNG MIN caught viewers’ attention with their appearances on survival shows I-LAND, Mnet’s Boys24, and JTBC’s MIXNINE. Their debut is evidence that they’re on the right path.

The group’s name represents their limitless potential, and their steady growth is testament to this. They’ve released three mini-albums and performed overseas, including KCON LA 2023. They’ve now celebrated their one-year anniversary and sat down with NME to talk about their new mini-album, STUNNING, and its title track, RU-PUM PUM.

8TURN believes that their album shows their musical and unique personalities. The B-sides include a diverse set of sounds, from the cheerful vocals in WE HERE to the slight southern twang of the guitars in NOM. The group aimed to pull back unnecessary glamor with RU-PUM PUM and represent themselves with confidence.

All members dyed their hair blonde in representation of the album’s title – 8TURN is always up for experimenting with new ideas. Future plans include trying foreign languages in the next album, a fresh yet breezy R&B sound, and performing in Latin America.

Despite being so young, the group has performed and honed their skills worldwide. They understand the role of cameras during live performances and connect deeply with their fans. The group hopes to return to KCON and perform in brand-new territories in 2024.
