South Korean girl group TWICE has released a new song in English called ‘I Got You’. The song is a “pre-release single” from TWICE’s upcoming 13th mini-album ‘With YOU-th’, which is set to be released on February 23rd. ‘I Got You’ is TWICE’s third fully-English song. The song was released with a music video featuring the group on a stormy sea.
The song is reportedly sung about the bond between the members of the group, providing a message of unity in difficult situations. JYP Entertainment, TWICE’s agency, said that “even during difficult situations, I was always happy because of ‘you’ and we will overcome those hardships ‘together’ as always”. The upbeat synth-pop song encourages listeners even in the toughest of times as the line “No matter what, you got me, I got you” repeats throughout the song.
TWICE’s last album, ‘Ready to Be,’ was released in 2023, where it was received with great praise. The group has been active since their debut in 2015, releasing hit songs such as ‘Cheer Up’ and ‘TT’. Their songs feature a mix of Korean and English, as well as other languages from time to time.
