Sam Smith and Chase & Status on Radio 1 Live Lounge line-up

BBC Radio 1 has unveiled a lineup of artists set to appear for its Live Lounge month this October, featuring notable names such as Sam Smith, Chase & Status, and Jorja Smith. Alongside them, indie band Blossoms, singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri, and American rappers Anderson .Paak and Cordae will also participate in the special sessions.

Traditionally, each artist on the Live Lounge performs an acoustic rendition of one of their own tracks, as well as a cover version of a song originally by another musician. These performances will be broadcast during Radio 1’s Live Lounge show, which has recently welcomed new hosts Charlie Hedges and Jeremiah Asiamah. Listeners can tune in every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at noon throughout October to catch the releases.

The schedule kicks off on 5 October with a performance by Blossoms, the band originating from Stockport. Following them, additional acts including rock group Nothing But Thieves, emerging US talent Stella Lefty, Brit-nominated singer Beabadoobee, and London-based artist Odeal will take the stage. The sessions will conclude on 30 October with a set from the Brighton duo Royal Blood. However, there remains a surprise guest who will perform just before Royal Blood’s appearance.

West Midlands native and Brit Award winner Jorja Smith will be performing shortly after the release of her third album, *What Are The Odds*, which Rolling Stone UK praised as her “best album yet.” Electronic music duo Chase & Status, fresh from headlining the Reading and Leeds Festival, are also lined up, along with Oscar-winner Sam Smith, who will showcase tracks from their recently released fifth album, *Hazel Eyes*
