On Tuesday, a police forensic tent was still positioned outside the pub, where nearby visitors had left flowers as a tribute. A local resident recounted hearing three gunshots on Monday evening, followed by witnessing someone fleeing the scene while shouting for someone to “Call the police.”
This individual, who wished to remain anonymous, also observed a moped and a white car departing the area shortly before law enforcement officers arrived. He mentioned that outside the pub, the sounds of women’s screaming and crying could be heard.
Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, the central south borough commander, addressed the incident by acknowledging the likely distress it has caused the local community. She confirmed that police would maintain an increased presence in the area throughout the day as the investigation proceeds. She also extended condolences, saying, “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family for their tragic loss.”
Authorities are urging anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward and assist with their inquiries
