An incident has been reported in which Hynd allegedly struck a child, approximately eight or nine years old, on the head with an object during a “cubs” class at the club. This event was reportedly observed by another coach, who subsequently left the club for a brief period following the incident.
In addition to this, a separate complaint involved a different boxer who sustained a hand injury but felt compelled to perform exercises that were deemed inappropriate. This individual reportedly left the gym shortly after, citing feelings of being “bullied.” Furthermore, Hynd is accused of repeatedly mocking another child who had recently lost weight.
Hynd was appointed as a technical official at the Games in February. However, concerns were first brought to Boxing Scotland’s attention in April. The Commonwealth Games spokesperson clarified that the selection of officials is managed by Boxing Scotland.
During the ongoing investigation, Hynd has been instructed to refrain from attending the club and participating in related activities. Boxing Scotland has stated that they cannot provide comments on specific allegations
