Four individuals have been formally charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old man in Leicester. The victim, identified as Arad Niakan, sustained fatal injuries after the incident occurred on Wednesday at De Montfort Place, near London Road, according to Leicestershire Police.
Those charged with the murder are Talha Satar, 21, from Stoughton Street South in Spinney Hills; Said Mahamed, 20, from Sparkenhoe Street, Spinney Hills; Husni Benramadan, 19, who has no fixed address; and Yousouf Khan, 18, also without a fixed address. In addition to the murder charge, each of these men faces accusations of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and carrying a knife or bladed article in a public place.
A fifth individual, 21-year-old Kassam Tarmahoomed, has been charged with assisting an offender, police officials reported. All five accused are due to make their first court appearance at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Leicestershire Police also revealed that two men, both aged 52, and two women, aged 43, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender during the investigation but have since been released on bail. Separately, a 33-year-old man previously detained on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action taken
