Matty Healy, the lead singer of The 1975, and model Gabriette Bechtel have recently gotten married in Los Angeles. The couple, who revealed their engagement earlier this year after nine months of dating, exchanged vows in a private ceremony over the weekend. Their representatives confirmed that the event was intimate, with close family and friends present.
Reports from various US media outlets indicate that the wedding took place at Madonna’s former estate located in the Hollywood Hills. Among the attendees were notable celebrities, including singer Charli XCX. The relationship between Healy, 37, and Bechtel, 28, first surfaced shortly after Healy’s brief romance with Taylor Swift in 2023, a connection that reportedly influenced songs on Swift’s album, *The Tortured Poets Department*.
In June 2024, Bechtel posted an image on Instagram showcasing a sizable black diamond ring on her finger, accompanied by the caption, “Marrying The 1975 is very brat.” The engagement was later confirmed by Healy’s mother, television personality Denise Welch, during an episode of her podcast. Leading up to the wedding, videos emerged online showing Healy performing at his stag party with The 9075, a tribute band dedicated to The 1975.
Bechtel also shared glimpses of her hen party in Las Vegas on social media. The pictures included scenes of her handcuffed and carried onto a plane by a man dressed as a police officer, along with images of fake $100 bills scattered on the floor, dancing with a burlesque artist, as well as posing with an Elvis impersonator. Besides modeling, Gabriette Bechtel is also a musician and serves as the lead vocalist and songwriter for the punk rock band Nasty Cherry, which was founded by Charli XCX. Her bandmate George Daniel is the drummer for The 1975.
