Drake's surprise three-album drop makes UK Official Chart history

Drake has set a new record on the UK music charts by becoming the first artist to have three studio albums debut simultaneously within the top 10. On 15 May, the rapper released his eagerly awaited solo album, *Iceman*, alongside two surprise projects titled *Habibti* and *Maid of Honour*. This marks his first releases since a public dispute with US rapper Kendrick Lamar intensified in 2024.

The album *Iceman* debuted at number one on the UK Official Albums Chart, with *Maid of Honour* and *Habibti* entering at positions six and seven, respectively. The Official Charts Company confirmed that Drake is the first act ever to launch three studio albums concurrently in the top ten. This achievement adds *Iceman* as Drake’s seventh UK chart-topping album and his 17th to reach the top ten.

Together, the three albums feature a total of 43 tracks, including collaborations with artists such as Central Cee, 21 Savage, and PARTYNEXTDOOR. Following their release, Drake shattered streaming records as listeners eagerly consumed the new music. Spotify confirmed that he set the 2026 record for the most streams by an artist and for a single album in one day.

Musically, *Habibti* leans more towards R&B influences, whereas *Maid of Honour* is inspired by dance music. Reviews for these latest offerings have been mixed, and many have noted that Drake appears to reignite his rivalry with Kendrick Lamar. Music journalist Mary Mandefield commented to BBC Newsbeat, describing Drake as both a “smart businessman, as well as a great musician.” She added, “It would have been a massive miss to have three albums and not to mention Kendrick at all.” Despite his strong album sales, Drake has not topped the official singles chart, where Olivia Dean and Sam Fender’s *Rein My In* remains number one for the twelfth consecutive week. Nonetheless, Drake holds three songs within the top ten singles, bringing his total number of top ten hits to 50
