In response to residents’ hopes for a temporary resolution to the strikes, Unite regional officer Zoe Mayou stated that any halt to the strike action is not on the horizon at the moment. The union representing the striking workers has accused the council of pushing some employees onto pay levels that are barely above the minimum wage, while the council maintains that it has made a fair and reasonable offer.
