£36.95Assault charges have been laid against a 20-year-old man in connection with an incident involving Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish after the team’s recent 0-0 draw against rivals Manchester United. The altercation reportedly took place at Old Trafford as Grealish was leaving the field following the derby match. Alfie Holt from Droylsden is set to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on 14 July, according to a statement released by Greater Manchester Police.
Both Manchester United and Manchester City have refrained from providing any comments on the matter when contacted by BBC Sport. In addition to the assault incident involving Grealish, the match was further scarred by offensive chants directed at Phil Foden’s mother by some Manchester United supporters. City manager Pep Guardiola criticized the behavior, labeling it as “a lack of class” in response to the disrespectful remarks.
