Nine women reported Tinder conman Christopher Harkins before his arrest


Between 2012 and 2019, nine women separately reported Christopher Harkins to Police Scotland after meeting him on dating sites, including Tinder. The women claimed he had recorded intimate pictures and videos without their consent, threatened them, and stolen tens of thousands of pounds. However, none of the reports resulted in criminal charges, and the victims complained that their complaints had been “dismissed” as “civil matters”.

Harkins continued to offend until 2020, using dating sites to target successful, career-driven women around Glasgow and the central belt. He portrayed himself as a jet-setting, business-owning “gym rat” on his profile, but in reality, he was one of Scotland’s most prolific romance fraudsters.
