Hunt for missing sisters in Aberdeen is not a criminal case, police say

Police in Aberdeen have said they are not treating the disappearance of two Hungarian sisters from the city as a criminal investigation. Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, who are both 32 and live in Aberdeen, went missing on 7 January. The triplets were last seen at Victoria Bridge in the city centre at around 2.12am on the day they disappeared. Police Superintendent Davie Howieson said that while the possibility that they may have gone into the water through that area was being investigated, he insisted there was “no evidence” to suggest that anything untoward had happened. He asked anyone who might have any information to come forward.

Howieson said the alarm had been raised by the sisters’ landlord. The two women had previously expressed a desire to move out of the property, prompting concerns when they were not seen or heard of. Family in Hungary have appealed for information on the sisters’ whereabouts. Searches have continued, with the police helicopter, divers and sniffer dogs involved. The women are both white, slim and have long brown hair.

Those with information should contact the Scottish Police
