King joins Raye and Apple boss at Battersea Power Station market


King Charles recently joined singer Raye for a heartwarming Christmas visit to the Battersea Power Station situated in South West London. Upon his arrival, King Charles was greeted by a community choir who sang the carol “We Three Kings.” The cheering crowd made the atmosphere festive and lively. The King had the pleasure of going around the mall and seeing Christmas shoppers post-work, with one individual being Apple boss Tim Cook.

Later on, King Charles met Apple CEO Tim Cook at the tech giant’s UK hub located inside the colossal former power station building. Singer Raye then entertained the crowd with a seasonal serenade of “Holy Night.” From there, the group visited the Curated Makers Market, which consists of craftspeople and small-scale traders. The King’s Trust, which was formerly known as The Prince’s Trust, has supported this market’s founder Megan Jones.

King Charles is known to be a big fan of architecture and design, and on this visit, he had the opportunity to take in the sights of the 1930s power station designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, responsible for classic landmarks including Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and the red phone box. The power station once produced a fifth of London’s electricity, which included powering iconic landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and the House of Parliament.

The visit ended with the projection of the children’s artwork from a nearby primary school onto the giant chimneys, lighting up the night sky for King Charles and the Christmas shoppers. Singer Raye finished the night with another performance, leaving the attendees in good spirits with lasting memories of the rare outing
