SAULT, the enigmatic British collective, has surprised fans by releasing a new album titled “Acts of Faith.” The album consists of a single 32-minute track produced by the band’s de facto leader, Inflo. The group released the album as a .wav file on Forever Living Originals with a link to download the music.
The band revealed the album with an image of a vintage TV that displayed the album’s title over a dark and rainy street background. SAULT didn’t provide any additional information other than the download link.
The album’s announcement follows SAULT’s first live show in London on December 14, 2023, which included Michael Kiwanuka and Little Simz. The collective suggested that there would be more concerts worldwide showcasing their latest album, “5” in New York, “Black” in Los Angeles, “Untitled (Rise)” in Canada, “11” in Germany, “Air” in Paris, and “Earth” in Africa.
SAULT hasn’t officially confirmed the band’s members, but Inflo is widely regarded as its leader, with Kid Sister, Cleo Sol, and Chronixx providing uncredited vocals. Rapper André 3000 confirmed in January that he plans to collaborate with the band, having spent time recording with them in the studio.
NME gave the album “Nine” a four-star review, calling it a powerful piece of work that “demonstrates the power of words and just how impactful music can be.” Despite its sadness, the album offers a sense of hope for a brighter future. “Never lose yourself,” the album’s closing words declare, “you can always start again.”
Fans of SAULT remain intrigued and are eager to see what the collective will release next
