It seems that Drake has removed all of his Kendrick Lamar diss tracks from his Instagram account. The two rappers’ feud reignited back in March with Lamar’s verse on ‘Like That’ where he proclaimed “fuck sneak dissin'”, taking a shot at Drake’s feature with J. Cole. Lamar rapped on the track, stating, “Motherfuck the big three, n****, it’s just big me”. Drake responded through posting his own responses on his Instagram account, including a track called ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’; however, it was taken down due to its use of AI vocals.
Drake has since taken down all posts referencing the beef, including his latest diss track ‘The Heart Part 6’. He then uploaded a picture of himself with a mysterious caption that reads, “The only yes man around me is my Rolex dealer.” Recently, TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith announced that the feud between Lamar and Drake was over. Tiffith states, “This battle is over,” and continues with, “A win for the culture, while keeping it all on wax. Especially when these publications try to make it something else. We proved them wrong. That’s a victory within itself. On another note, it’s time to wrap up this TDE [20-year] anniversary compilation.”
After Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ track was released, where Lamar referred to Drake as a “certified paedophile”, a bodyguard was hospitalised after being shot outside of Drake’s Toronto mansion. In the days following, numerous people were arrested for trespassing on the property. It is not entirely clear whether the incidents occurred due to Drake’s feud with Lamar. The feud’s end has allowed Drake to branch out musically. He was featured on Sexyy Red’s mixtape, rapping over Metro Boomin’s diss beat ‘BBL Drizzy’ and then covered Plain White T’s ‘Hey There Delilah’ with Snowd4y.
Despite the end of the feud, Lamar’s verses will always be remembered for reigniting the beef with Drake and J. Cole. It leaves rap fans dreaming of collaborations that could have happened, with many pondering on what would have come if Drake and Lamar ever collaborated on music
