The K-pop girl group known as IVE has revealed their plans to release their second EP entitled ‘IVE SWITCH’. A teaser for the album was shared on their official social media accounts which showcased a magic wand made up of jewels which can be used to open a house-shaped lock to form a metal box. The new EP is set for release on April 29, and details regarding the tracklist and lead single will be shared closer to the release date.
This upcoming release will follow IVE’s first EP, ‘I’VE MINE’, which was released in October of the previous year. Crystal Bell from NME gave the project a glowing four-star review, noting that there is “an acute sense of growth and girlishness that permeates [the release]”. In addition, the group also released their first studio album called ‘I’VE IVE’ last year. The album was named one of the best albums of 2023 by NME, with album cuts ‘Blue Blood’ and ‘I AM’ also being included on NME’s list of the best K-pop songs of 2023.
Earlier this year, IVE worked alongside the American rapper Saweetie on a remake of Icona Pop’s hit single ‘All Night’ from 2023. It was reported that IVE member Wonyoung was initially excited and slightly nervous about working with Saweetie, saying that she was “freaked out” when informed of the collaboration.
