The popular indie game Vampire Survivors is set to release its soundtrack on vinyl this month, according to developer Poncle and iam8bit. The two LP set will feature 22 songs and has been pressed on “blood-splatter coloured red wax”. The slipcase of the vinyl will also include an original illustration by artist Nimit Malavia. The soundtrack is priced at $42.99 and is expected to launch on March 14.
Composer Daniele Zandara, who created the score in collaboration with Filippo Vicarelli and Will Davies, discusses the process of creating the soundtrack with NME. According to Zandara, he didn’t imagine his music fitting the chaotic nature of Vampire Survivors. However, Luca Galante, the creator of the game, explained his vision to Zandara who then translated it into music. Zandara takes inspiration from various sources such as games, books, movies, and real-life experiences.
Zandara says that the physical release of the soundtrack is “a new milestone” for him and the Poncle team who have been patiently waiting for this moment. The Poncle team focuses on creating an atmosphere of kindness, altruism, and respect which boosts creativity and freedom within the team. Zandara expresses his pride for being a part of the Poncle family and working with such supportive people.
In other gaming soundtrack news, an orchestral world tour has been announced for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
