To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Munich label Molten Moods has released a 21-track compilation showcasing its diverse interests. The compilation traverses genres like techno, leftfield club, bass music, and jazz. The label has incorporated singer-songwriter collaborations to create a sense of experimental playfulness. Rosa Anschütz, Cressida, Polygonia, GAEL, Glaskin, Nova Cheq, and Tapefeed are among the artists featured on the compilation.
Anschütz’s contribution includes spoken-word lines that meld with driving electronic rhythms and analog tools, while Polygonia crosses techno, downtempo, and ambient sounds. Jonas Yamer, the label’s founder, described the compilation’s focus as on the Munich scene. He included Glaskin, Ark Noir, Polygonia, Kareem El Morr, and QNRG with which he had worked previously.
Yamer said he aimed to provide a platform for two standalone tracks, which he collaborates on. ‘Save Me’ is with his longtime friend Anschütz, with whom he recently formed a new band called Spoil, and ‘Spiraling Ploddingly’ where he provided his vocals himself. The label founder also intended to discover new collaborations with talented artists like Gael and Nothus who were not represented on the label before.
