Police are searching for two suspects after a man was stabbed to death in Moss Side, Manchester. The pair fled the scene in a car following the attack on Wednesday at around 20:00 BST. The victim, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died soon after. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have asked for information about the incident and the suspects.
Initial police inquiries indicate that the victim and a friend were involved in a disturbance with the two other men on Moss Lane East. The suspects then fled from the scene, while the victim’s friend called emergency services. GMP have cordoned off an area of the road as forensic officers carry out investigations.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Naismith from the GMP has sought to reassure residents, saying that there are “additional resources deployed to identify those responsible”. He also indicated that the stabbing was likely not a random act. No arrests have been made yet.
