Detroit rapper Danny Brown has announced that he will release his first solo album since 2019 later this year. Titled ‘Quaranta,’ the album will feature collaborations with Bruiser Wolf, Kassa Overall, MIKE, Quelle Chris, Paul White, SKYWLKR and others. Brown has shared a new single from the album, called ‘Tantor’, the music video for which was directed by UNCANNY and features Brown approaching people on the street while dressed entirely in IT tech.
Produced by The Alchemist, ‘Tantor’ includes Brown’s signature rap style alongside a rock guitar sample. Speaking about the album, Brown has said that it is “the spiritual sequel” to his breakthrough album ‘XXX’ and his most fully realised work to date. The album will be released on 17 November via Warp Records.
This winter, Brown will perform a series of shows in Detroit, London, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles. His last solo album was 2019’s ‘uknowhatimsayin¿,’ which featured collaborators including Flying Lotus, Run The Jewels, Q-Tip, Blood Orange and more. Earlier this year, Brown released a joint album with fellow rapper JPEGMAFIA titled ‘SCARING THE HOES.’
