London based yourboykiran and Darama have announced the launch of their new label, Bubblin. The duo aims to set it apart from the traditional associations of labels by incorporating defining features of accessibility and quality. Irrespective of genres, Bubblin is focused on eliciting the right emotional reaction from audiences through their “feeling” of “bass face x move your waist”.
In celebration of the label launch, Bubblin has released its first compilation, V/A ‘BB001’. It features some of the most notable contributors from the music industry, including Mina, Murder He Wrote, Nadī, Kaval, Gnarly, Krithi, BRAVA, Blue Canariñho, as well as label heads yourboykiran and Darama, aimed to create a new music universe.
Bubblin is being tagged as “a personal feeling that more could be done from labels in dance music,” says Darama. He emphasizes three main aspects of a release, including the artist, the label, and the audience, which will feel valued and comfortable to take risks. “With Bubblin, we want to better immerse listeners in a world of music,” adds yourboykiran. According to him, the idea is to build a platform with fun and approachability at its core, with high-quality being the foundation.
Bubblin’s visual identity is tied with a comic book storyline that showcases an oppressive regime in a city, with a rebellion party movement at its center. To celebrate the release of V/A ‘BB001’, Bubblin has an event planned for November 3 at The Marquis.
