Florentino, the emerging Colombian DJ and producer, has announced the release of his upcoming EP, ‘Kilometro Quinze’, which is set to be available on October 20 through the label XL Recordings. The EP will contain five tracks featuring collaborations with DJ Python, Shygirl, BAMBII & KD One. It will also include original productions by Florentino, as well as beats made in conjunction with Baby Cocada and DJ Python. The name of the EP comes from his grandfather’s farm in central Colombia.
‘Kilometro Quinze’ marks the follow-up to his debut release, ‘Constrictor (feat. BAMBII and KD One)’, which was also released with XL Recordings back in August. The announcement comes accompanied by the release of the first single from the upcoming EP, ‘Pressure (feat. Shygirl)’. The song is a perfect blend of electrifying beats and resounding bass alongside the captivating vocals of Shygirl.
According to Florentino, the inspiration for this new EP is his time spent on Kilometro 15 at his grandfather’s farm. It embodies the two sonic worlds he has been exploring, the different styles of Colombian music that his family introduced him to and the darker UK club music that he was exposed to. Making ‘Kilometro Quinze’, allowed him to tap back into his roots in a way he never imagined before and made him create a sound that he can call his own.
Undoubtedly, this upcoming EP marks a milestone in his career and further pushes him into the limelight. He believes that it’s a sound he can continue to explore and a mark between the two worlds he has been searching to combine. Fans can pre-order the EP through the web as they anxiously await more music from this rising artist
