Kyiv clubs and promoters come together to launch UNight campaign

Kyiv’s clubs and promoters have launched the UNight campaign, an initiative promoting the sustainable development and protection of nightlife in the Ukrainian capital. UNight’s mission is to defend the right to represent the night-time economy of the capital, including clubs, employees, promoters, artists and attendees. The organisation aims to foster honest, inclusive, secure, socially responsible and open venues, while promoting culture and the development of strategic goals, priorities, directions, and specific projects.

UNight participants include several of Kyiv’s key nightlife players, such as ∄ (K41), HVLV Bar, Keller, Sloi Bar, and Kyiv festivals Brudniy Pes (Dirty Dog) and Art is a Weapon. This package of outreach and assistance aims to improve the city’s reputation for the night-time industries by potentially bringing in more tourism and providing a safer environment for visitors.

By fostering trustworthy, inclusive, and responsible venues, Kyiv’s night-time establishments can increase positive engagement with residents and tourists in the long term. Such a positive outlook is also important on the heels of recent attacks by far-right extremists who have taken action against nightclubs they have accused of selling illegal drugs. UNight aims to make the city’s nightlife institutions safer by building a positive reputation, encouraging sustainability and deterrence of violence.

UNight participants intend to raise more than £560,000 for military support by 2022 by hosting various events. This new campaign promotes a vibrant, inclusive nightlife scene while also ensuring its sustainability and safety for all involved. Find out more about UNight on their website
