Two individuals have been apprehended by the Met Police on suspicion of terrorism offences, following an appeal. The suspects, a 29-year-old woman and a 44-year-old woman, turned themselves in at a police station in south London on Monday, having recognized themselves in appeal photographs. The pair are currently in police custody in west London for questioning, on suspicion of endorsing a proscribed organization.
The force has yet to identify a third woman, who was observed on social media at a Whitehall pro-Palestine march on 14 October, wearing an image of a paraglider on her top. The police are also appealing for assistance from the public in identifying a man seen waving a ‘I fully support Hamas’ placard during a protest on Bond Street on 21 October.
Commander Dominic Murphy, Counter Terrorism Command chief of the Met, expressed his gratitude to the public who have provided information about the suspects. He has urged anyone in the appeal pictures to approach the police so they can ascertain their involvement in the investigation.
