Comedian Paul Whitehouse mugged at London cashpoint

Paul Whitehouse, the well-known actor and comedian, recently experienced an attempted theft at a cash machine in London. According to a post shared by his wife, Dr. Mine Conkbayir, Whitehouse was at a cashpoint behind a Sainsbury’s store in Islington when someone tried to steal his card. Dr. Conkbayir revealed on Instagram that Whitehouse had been out to collect medication for her after she suffered an adverse reaction to a treatment. She described the incident as a “horrid start to the weekend” and shared the story at her husband’s encouragement, hoping to raise awareness and remind people to remain cautious when out in public. Her message emphasized the importance of vigilance in such situations.

Support poured in from fans and friends, who expressed their dismay over the event and sent well wishes to the comedian. Fellow comedian Dawn French commented that the attack was “utterly not okay,” while Angela Barnes described it as a “horrible thing to happen” and extended her love to the couple during this unsettling time.
