The High Court has been informed that Thames Valley Police acted unlawfully in obtaining the search warrants used earlier this year to search the residences of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The police force acknowledged that the original court ruling authorizing the warrants under the particular legislation cited was mistaken.
These warrants were executed on 19 February when officers searched Mountbatten-Windsor’s properties. Following the searches, he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. However, Mountbatten-Windsor maintains his innocence and denies any involvement in wrongdoing.
