A coroner has determined that three sisters, whose bodies were recovered from the sea near Brighton, died by suicide. Jane Adetoro, aged 36, along with Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, had been living together in Greenford, London. Their deaths occurred on 13 May.
Prior to their passing, the women had visited a location in Birmingham close to where their mother had drowned in a lake several years earlier. Following this visit, they traveled to Brighton. According to Senior Coroner Penelope Schofield, the three entered the sea under hazardous conditions and were unable to swim.
The sisters’ father, Joseph Jacobsen, attended the inquest remotely and shared a heartfelt statement expressing his love and pride in watching his daughters grow into accomplished women. Toxicology reports showed no trace of drugs or alcohol in any of the three women.
The coroner concluded that the sisters had deliberately ended their lives. However, the reason behind choosing Brighton remains unclear
