The husband of a general practitioner has been charged with her murder following the discovery of her body at their home. Dr. Hannah Terry, who was also known by the name Hannah Cain, aged 45, was found deceased at a residence in Fern Hill, Dersingham, Norfolk, on Sunday.
Mark Cain, 45, who also lives on Fern Hill, was formally charged with her murder on the following Tuesday. During his appearance at Norwich Magistrates’ Court, he wore a black sweatshirt and provided only basic information such as his name, age, and address. He was not asked to enter a plea at that time and is scheduled to return to court on Thursday.
According to the prosecutor, Jacqui Hanlon, the police were alerted by the ambulance service at 2:25 a.m. on Sunday. The prosecutor explained that Dr. Cain was discovered in an upstairs bedroom, unresponsive and without signs of breathing or consciousness. A post-mortem examination revealed blunt force trauma to the right side of her head, along with an injury possibly indicating neck compression.
District judge Matthew Bone has ordered that Mark Cain remain in custody as he awaits his next court hearing at King’s Lynn Crown Court on Thursday
