A 28-year-old man involved in a violent spree in west London has been placed under an indefinite hospital order after being found responsible for manslaughter. Dawood Safi was convicted for stabbing Wayne Broadhurst, a 49-year-old dog walker, who died as a result of the attack that unfolded on 27 October last year.
The violent episode began at Safi’s residence in Uxbridge, where he first assaulted his landlord, Shahzad Farrukh. Following this, Safi went on to fatally stab Broadhurst in the street and also wounded a 14-year-old boy during the same series of knife attacks.
It was revealed that Safi was experiencing paranoid delusions and auditory hallucinations at the time of the attacks, factors which contributed to the “frenzy of violence” described during the incident. The court’s decision to impose an indefinite hospital order reflects the seriousness of the case and Safi’s mental health condition.
Further information on this case will be released as it becomes available
