Scott Crean has been without a permanent home for the past year and, since Christmas, has been residing in a hotel room in Glasgow. At 37 years old, he found himself homeless following a rapid series of personal setbacks: after losing his job at a charity shop, a family breakdown left him without stable accommodation. Speaking about his experience, Scott described his situation as feeling trapped in “limbo,” a state defined by endless waiting and uncertainty. “It’s as if I’m stuck in a time I can’t get out of… It’s the waiting game that I can’t stand,” he explained.
Living near Trongate in Glasgow, Scott’s hotel room is modest, containing basic furnishings such as a queen-sized bed, a sink, and a small shower area. All of his belongings are scattered within this limited space, which is funded directly through his Universal Credit payments.
