Man in court charged with murder over Armadale shooting

A court appearance has taken place involving a man accused of fatally shooting another individual in West Lothian. The incident occurred at a residence on Harestanes Road in Armadale, where police responded at approximately 11:50 a.m. on Saturday.

The victim, identified as 35-year-old Billy Watson, was discovered with injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Following this, Frank McCarthy, aged 57, was brought before Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday. He faces charges of murder and attempting to obstruct justice. McCarthy entered no plea and has been remanded in custody pending further proceedings.

In addition to McCarthy, police have detained two other men, aged 29 and 44, in relation to the case. Authorities with Police Scotland are continuing their investigations to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
