The Duchess of Sussex recently provided a rare insight into her family life through a short video shared on Instagram following their return to the United Kingdom. The 34-second clip, set to Wham!’s upbeat track “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” captures Meghan and Prince Harry strolling down a country path. At one point, Meghan turns and encourages, “come on, you,” inviting the viewer into their moment. Throughout the video, UK flag and heart emojis appear, highlighting their connection to the country.
The footage offers glimpses of the couple’s two children, with their son Archie seen running toward a group of deer and their daughter Lilibet riding a bicycle. Another segment of the video shows Harry fishing alongside the children, accompanied by the family’s dog walking near the water’s edge. This marks the first occasion the Duchess has featured her family on her Instagram grid since their move from California back to the UK.
Although the exact date and location of the recording remain uncertain, there are indications of recent rainy weather. A shot depicts wellington boots splashing in a puddle, while the children are also dressed in waterproof boots as they approach the deer. This aligns with the UK’s recent weather patterns, which have included a wet start to September following the hottest summer on record.
The shared clip provides an uncommon look at seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet, as the Sussexes typically keep their children’s faces from public view, either by photographing them from behind or obscuring their faces. Alongside the outdoor scenes, there is a cozy moment showing a child’s feet by an open fire, adding to the intimate feel of the video.
Last month, while the Sussexes did not publicly confirm their arrival in the UK, their spokesperson did acknowledge that they had brought their dogs, Mia and Pula, with them. The couple’s black Labrador retriever, adopted several years ago, also makes an appearance in the footage. Since stepping back from senior royal duties in 2020 and relocating to the US, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not resumed official roles but are now living in the UK as non-working royals.
It is believed the family will settle in a private home outside London, in the Cotswolds, where Archie and Lilibet are reportedly enrolled in school. Recently, a spokesperson revealed that the Sussexes were surprised by a letter from Prince Harry’s father, King Charles III, which clarified their continued status as non-working royals. The spokesperson commented that the couple “were a little surprised not to have been told about this in advance.”
The letter, sent on behalf of the King by the Lord Chamberlain—a senior official at the Palace—reiterated that Prince Harry and Meghan would not be able to use the royal titles “His and Her Royal Highness” and would remain “private citizens.
