Spanish producer and DJ Héctor Oaks has released his second album, titled ‘Fuego Universal’. The album is described as “positive confusion”, signifying its innovative sound that transcends the boundaries of techno. The album incorporates drum machines, sequencers and synthesizers to create a diverse soundscape. The record has a number of vocal collaborators, including Patrick Mason, SITA, Azidkandy, Ill Pekeño and Ergo Pro. The album was created over a period of two years, spending time in Madrid, Berlin and Los Angeles. The project aimed to innovate techno by mixing Latin funk, high BPMs, and rap, and even suggesting subtle Detroit influences. The record aims to push the limits of techno into pop, rap, and Latin circles.
Oaks will be performing at selected international stages to showcase ‘Fuego Universal’ live. He has performed the album live at Sonar Barcelona and Lisbon. The debut album is now available digitally and on vinyl for purchase. The artwork of the album cover was designed by Francisco Ramirez, who took inspiration from the material found on VHS tapes, creating an attractive visual for the album.
