A brand new compilation of five of Joy Orbison’s most popular tracks from 11 years ago has been released today. The “archive 09-10” brings together five tracks that were originally released in-between 2009 and 2010 shortly after his first hit “Hyph Mngo”. The record is now available on digital platforms via Toss Portal, the self-run music label of the producer. All five songs, including “tentative bidding demo,” “smother demo,” “ladywell,” “em & aitch,” and “gr etiquette,” were recorded from his archive and are being digitally released for the first time.
Through Bandcamp, Joy Orbison had previously released ‘GR Etiquette (’09 Mix)’ in March 2020, raising money for Southwark food bank and allowing his fans to enjoy his music while supporting a good cause. Joy Orbison wrote on Instagram about the surprise release, accompanied by photos of the time of production saying, “These pictures were taken around the time my first single ‘Hyph Mngo’ was released. The eagerly awaited archive version of the five tracks has also been released in flash drives in a limited edition of 500 copies, which are available for purchase on the TOSS PORTAL label’s website. This surprise release of Joy Orbison’s tracks has come as a treat for his fans and followers who can now enjoy an entirely new version of the songs.
