A security operation in Omagh, County Tyrone, led to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy under the Terrorism Act. This followed a carefully planned police search conducted on Monday at a residence located on Gardenville Avenue.
During the search, officers discovered four viable explosive devices, which were subsequently removed from the premises for detailed forensic analysis. The discovery prompted an evacuation of nearby homes, but residents have since been allowed to return safely to their properties.
Detective Inspector Winters addressed the public, advising against speculation regarding the incident. He emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation and the importance of allowing the authorities to gather all relevant information.
