A fundraising effort organized by Dudley Council aimed at helping local residents recover and rebuild their lives has now raised over £25,000. Meanwhile, a separate campaign led by the Heart of England Community Foundation to support families affected by recent fires across the West Midlands has reached the £50,000 mark.
Cat Eccles, the Member of Parliament for Stourbridge, encouraged anyone in need of extra assistance to come forward and seek help. She emphasized her availability to offer support and highlighted that the Town Hall remains open for distributing essentials such as food, clothing, supplies for pets, phone chargers, and to answer general questions. Eccles also mentioned that free counseling services are being provided by several local professionals for both adults and children.
The Stourbridge and District branch of the RSPCA has shared posters alerting the community about several cats that have gone missing since the fire affected the area. Meanwhile, in Stoke-on-Trent, a fire that began in a park located in Sandyford destroyed four homes entirely, while 13 others sustained damage to their structure, roofs, and windows.
One local resident, Marie Leese, recounted the heartbreaking loss of her cherished garden following the blaze at Maureen Avenue. When she was finally allowed to return home, she discovered that the summer house her late husband had built three years earlier had also been destroyed.
